Super simple 2 ingredient banana pancakes!

This morning I thought I would make Logan his favorite banana pancakes and while I’m at it I may as well share with you what I do to make them so yummy scrummy and finger licking 😉 If you make these for your little ones, please do tag us on Instagram, I’d love to see your efforts.

The first step in making your banana pancakes is to get your 2 ingredients those are 1 egg and 1 ripe banana, which you need to mash into a bowl using a fork, or if you wish an electric whisk/blender, then just crack open the egg and mix until some sort of batter emerges. (At this stage if you want to add some fruit like blueberries, mashed strawberry or anything you like really, you can do so here)

The next thing you need to do is heat up some oil or butter into a pan, i personally use this flora low calorie fry light oil which does the trick, and all that’s left to do is spoon the mixture into the frying pan into any size pancakes you wish.

Finally turn them over until they are lovely and golden on both sides, and that’s all there is to it, you have delicious banana pancakes for your baby to enjoy, just be sure there cooled right down but you can freeze these and defrost as and when you want to give them and just pop them in the microwave to warm them up.

-Blogmas day 22- Logan’s current feeding schedule

Logan has been really enjoying all the foods I have been putting in front of him, he’s gotten pretty good at gripping the more slippery foods like pasta which I cooked up for us tonight, it contained mushrooms, spinach, chopped tomatoes and penne pasta, I gave Logan a bit of everything I was eating excluding the mushroom just because I didn’t feel confident giving him them just yet as they are a fungus. Earlier today he had sliced cucumber and easy peal clementine, he enjoyed both.

Logan’s current feeding schedule is as follows:

  • 8 am – Banana porridge for breakfast
  • 30 am – Bottle
  • 12/1pm – Lunch (Toast/Banana/Pancake)
  • 3 pm – Bottle
  • 5/6pm – Tea (Puree/BLW)
  • 7 pm – Bottle

That is a rough guide to what Logan is currently eating in one 24 hour period (Not including the snacks he has during the day which are finger foods like banana rice cakes by Organix or Heinz biscotti which are is current favourite)

-Blogmas Day 3- Baby led Weaning *my thoughts so far

So far we have loved baby led weaning, as messy as it is, Logan seems to really enjoy playing with the food, exploring the new tastes and textures, even though I have plenty of time in the day to make and prepare something extravagant for Logan’s tea, it does sometime feel a bit like time’s been wasted since a lot of it ends up on the floor or he’s just not in the mood to eat at that time.

With that being said I have decided to do both baby led weaning and offer jars/pouches for those times when I’ve forgotten to make him something or when he can’t eat what me and his daddy are eating that evening, he does love his food so far though whether that’s been a piece of fresh fruit/veg or from a baby food jar.

These are the foods we have offered Logan so far:

  • Boiled Egg
  • Pear
  • Omelette
  • Scrambled egg
  • Apple
  • Carrot
  • Mash potato
  • Pasta
  • Broccoli
  • Cauliflower
  • Cheese
  • Banana (His absolute favourite)
  • Pancakes (banana and normal)
  • Garden peas

If you have any recipes or foods i should try with then please let me know in the comments.

Hope you all enjoyed this post.

Organix finger foods review (carrot sticks)

While I was in town yesterday I was looking through the baby food section and thought well seeing as we’re doing BLW with Logan and he seems to be OK with the food I’ve offered so far I thought I’d pick up some of these Organix carrot sticks (yes they are basically bigger wotsits) but nonetheless Logan actually really loved them and since they melt in the mouth I wasn’t worried at all about him choking.

Obviously I just offered him a few as a snack while I was going around town seeing as I couldn’t exactly let him eat whatever it was me and rob ate for lunch (KFC) 😛

Even though it states 7+ months on the pack, I’m pretty sure that’s just a guideline as he devours them in minutes!

Oh and yes he is hwearing a 1st Christmas bib as we had his photos done at Max Spielmann yesterday, can I just say how cute he was and we’ll behaved sitting up for his photo.

So yes mummy’s / Daddy’s if you have a baby whose about 6 months and your BLW why not give these finger foods a try! There a hit with logan.

What’s been on the menu today?

For Logan’s lunch I thought I’d offer him something little as he had his breakfast (porridge) a bit later today but as you can see from the picture he loved it, I definitely think banana is his favorite fruit!

I cut it in half and left skin on bottom half a bit like a banana popsicle, it was definitely alot easier for him to hold.

For Logan’s tea I made him some spiral pasta, broccoli and cauliflower florrets no seasoning! Was going to add a bit of cheese but decided against it, this neal went down great, he actually loved the broccoli (or baby trees as my fiancé calls them) I also offered him some cool boiled water in his tommee tippee beaker!

So today was a BLW success! 😜 And I actually had a pretty good day and night off logan with minimum crying and tantrums! Result #mumwin

If any one tries these foods with their little ones, please do let me know!
